Jesus said in Luke 15:1 "...It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!"   An offense is more often the result of the way something has been said rather than the facts of what has been said.  Ephesians 4:15 "speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head Christ."  The bare truth can be blunt, harsh, abrasive, and sting like a bee.  Many of the hurts that occur in our personal relationships are the result of facts spoken without love.  Later when we are trying to deal with the hurts we can miss the fact that feelings have been wounded.  Jesus died for our sins which are a fact, but the underlining truth about God is, God is love.  No matter how He deals with us about what we need to fix, we know He loves us.  1 Peter 4:8 "above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”  We say the truth shall set you free but freeing truth is divinely connected to love.  John 13:35 Jesus said, "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”  Go into today with a loving heart for people, whenever and wherever you meet them.
This is Thanksgiving Sunday, I will be sharing on, 'Keeping Thankful.'  It's one thing to give thanks for something that you received and it's another thing to keep in thanks to God for all things that come your way each day.
Next Sunday we have a special guest in the morning, Dr. Ann Gillies.  She is a national leader with the Franklin Graham disaster relief foundation.  She has been here in Cape Breton several times dealing with the flood we experienced last year and the follow up connected with the flood.
Wait for it....Oct 15th Sunday evening @7:30 members from our church worship team (Aroma) will be holding a live concert to record songs that they have written to worship and praise the Lord.  Other churches have also been invited and as our praises go up may His glory come down and may many people receive a fresh touch from the Holy Spirit.
Continue to pray for all those in need, looking forward to seeing you soon, lots of love, Pastor Kevin and Alice
